Modern cars and vans increasingly rely on computers powered by complex software to control everything from engine performance to onboard entertainment. In the same way you would carry out a Microsoft or Apple software update on your electronic devices, it’s very common for known issues on a vehicle to be solved by updating the control module.

Another common reason to restore a vehicle’s software is to unmask possible software manipulation that was used to hide a known fault.
